Hemet, August 16, 2022: The Governing Board of the Hemet Unified School District, on nomination by Trustee Megan Haley, has selected Mr. Patrick McGowan, Teacher at Hamilton High School, as the August recipient of the Governing Board Recognition and Award.
Mr. Patrick McGowan is the epitome of a teacher that is focused on student outcomes. He recognizes that teaching is all about supporting and helping students grow. He spends countless hours not only helping himself perfect his craft but also those around him.
He serves in various leadership capacities amongst the site team and coaches numerous sports at Hamilton High. Mr. McGowan recently led the Hamilton Bobcat football team to their first CIF playoff win in over 16 years. He often leaves his classroom door open during lunchtime to help support students with academic or athletic questions.
As a former valedictorian for Hamilton, he applies the same work ethic to accomplish that feat as he does for his support for our students. Hamilton is a better place because of Mr. McGowan and we are lucky to have him on our team. Go Bobcats!
For outstanding performance, professionalism and loyalty to the Hemet Unified School District, Trustee Megan Haley presented Mr. Patrick McGowan with the Governing Board Recognition of Excellence Award and a $500 certificate to be used toward the District program of his choice.
